Skills Taught in This Class

Arm & Leg Movement

Ball Time is a favorite among our little swimmers! Games like this encourage kicking, splashing, reaching, and building confidence, helping them get accustomed to the water in a fun and playful way.

Breath Control

Eyes, ears, and face in! We help babies become comfortable with the sensations of water splashing and going underwater through engaging games, playful songs, and gentle practice. Our approach turns these potentially uncomfortable experiences into fun and familiar ones.

Floating

Even in our infant class, we introduce the basics of Frontstroke and Backstroke. Backstroke, in particular, allows babies to relax, stretch out, and test their floating abilities in the water, all under the gentle guidance of our experienced instructors. This early exposure helps build confidence and comfort in the water from the very beginning.

Water Comfort

Your infant will quickly gain confidence and comfort in the water through engaging songs, playful games, quality time with mom and dad, and the excitement of making new baby friends. You'll delight in watching them joyfully dunk under the water, kick, and splash with enthusiasm as they develop essential water skills in a fun, nurturing setting.

Strokes Taught in This Class

Front Stroke

We begin class with Front Stroke or often called Freestyle; this is the most common stroke in swimming and allows our swimmers to get comfortable with swimming face down and getting their eyes and face in the water.

Elementary Backstroke

This stroke is known as the "Emergency Stroke," as it allows tired swimmers to catch their breath and regain composure before safely making their way to the shore or the side of the pool.

Backstroke

During backstroke practice, children have the opportunity to master balance and refine their technique, all while enhancing their overall swimming proficiency.

Diving

Diving is exclusively taught at our Spanaway location, where we emphasize the importance of diving safety and technique. This valuable skill not only enables children to dive deeper but also helps them build a stronger trust and connection with the water, enhancing their overall confidence in aquatic environments.
