At Kinder Swimmer, our goal is to turn your child into a confident, capable swimmer who is not only safe in the water but also enjoys swimming as a fun and healthy activity. So, what can you expect once your child graduates from our Regular Swim Class? By the time your little swimmer has completed our program, they will have gained a solid foundation in essential swim strokes and water safety skills, setting them up for success in any aquatic environment.

Mastery of Key Swim Strokes

After completing the Regular Swim Class, your child will have successfully learned and mastered four key swim strokes and can swim them for the length of the pool. These strokes form the foundation of all swimming techniques, giving your little swimmer the confidence and ability to enjoy the water safely and effectively.

  1. Front Crawl (Freestyle)

    • This stroke is often the fastest and most common for competitive swimming. Your child will have learned how to swim efficiently with a smooth arm motion, flutter kicks, and proper breathing technique.

  2. Backstroke

    • Swimming on their back, your child will have mastered the backstroke, which involves alternating arm movements and a steady flutter kick. This stroke is excellent for improving endurance and comfort in the water, as it allows swimmers to breathe easily while moving.

  3. Elementary Backstroke

    • A more relaxed stroke, the elementary backstroke helps develop coordination and is often used as a safety stroke because it conserves energy while keeping the swimmer's face out of the water. Your child will be able to use this stroke to rest while staying afloat.

  4. Breaststroke

    • Known for its “frog-like” kick and circular arm movements, the breaststroke is a slower but powerful stroke. Your child will have learned how to perform the breaststroke with proper timing and coordination, making them a well-rounded swimmer.

Essential Water Safety Skills

Beyond learning key swim strokes, your little swimmer will have gained crucial water safety skills that are just as important as technique. Our program places a strong emphasis on safety to ensure that your child feels comfortable and prepared in various water situations.

  1. Treading Water

    • Your child will be able to tread water confidently, using a combination of kicks and arm movements to stay afloat in place. This skill is essential for water safety, as it allows swimmers to rest in deep water without needing to reach the side or bottom of the pool.

  2. Floating

    • Whether face-up or face-down, your child will have mastered the ability to float calmly on the water. Floating is a key survival skill that helps swimmers conserve energy and stay safe in an emergency situation.

  3. Diving & Safe Entry

    • Graduates of our Regular Swim Class will know how to enter the water safely, whether jumping or diving. They will have been taught proper techniques to prevent injury and ensure a smooth, controlled entry into the water.

  4. Pool Exits

    • One of the most important water safety skills your child will learn is how to safely exit the pool, whether using a ladder or climbing out at the pool’s edge. This skill ensures your child can leave the water independently if needed.

Building Confidence and Endurance

As your child progresses through the Regular Swim Class, they will not only develop physical skills but also build confidence and endurance. Swimming consistently helps improve cardiovascular health, strength, and coordination, but just as importantly, it fosters a sense of accomplishment and self-reliance in your child.

  • Confidence in the Water: After completing the course, your child will feel more comfortable and secure in the water, whether they’re swimming for fun or participating in more structured activities like swim teams or beach outings.

  • Endurance and Stamina: Our swim classes help children build endurance by gradually increasing swim distances and duration. By the end of the program, your child will be able to swim longer distances without tiring as quickly, giving them a sense of achievement and boosting their overall fitness.
